An Entrepreneur At Heart 💗
I was born and raised in St. Cloud, MN and creativity and an entrepreneurial spirit have always been a huge part of my life—even before I was 10, I was starting little businesses, from duct tape crafts to cupcakes and lemonade stands. That love for making and selling things only has grown as I've gotten older.
I started making jewelry in high school, learning materials and techniques from my local craft store job where I used my discount to buy my first craft supplies. What began as a hobby soon turned into a fun venture. I started by selling my creations at pop-up events and on Instagram. The encouragement and excitement I received pushed me to take the next step and turn my new found passion into a business.
Taking the Leap 👩💼
With the support of my growing customer base, I officially launched Made By Megan. Securing my LLC licensing marked the transition from a small hobby to a recognized business. This allowed me to expand my reach and establish an e-commerce store, making it easier for customers all over to access my jewelry. My pieces have now, also, found a home in a few local small businesses, further expanding my market and visibility.
Following high school, I attended college and graduated from University of Wisconsin-River Falls. This period of life taught me a lo—balancing school, work, and driving back and forth to run my business—a challenge, but one that looking back I am so proud of myself for. Now, alongside a full-time job, Made By Megan continues to be my creative outlet and passion project.
My Creations
As I've evolved, so has my jewelry. I really try to offer something for all of the girls, from statement pieces that make bold impressions to dainty, everyday jewelry that adds just a little something to an outfit.
Polymer Clay Earrings
My standouts though, are my polymer clay earrings. I make these 100% from hand, starting with rolling out the clay, cutting it, baking it, sanding it, coating it with Resin, etc. There's a lot that goes into these but the final product is so fun to see come together!
Polymer clay is incredibly lightweight, making it comfortable for all-day wear. Its versatility also allows me to experiment with countless designs, not one being the same.
Quality Meets Affordability
Something that is really important to me is providing high-quality jewelry at affordable prices.
Many of the metals used in my pieces are hypoallergenic and nickel-free, essential for customers with sensitive skin. Additionally, I use a lot of stainless steel metals. These are easier on those with allergies and help minimize tarnishing.
The Future of Made By Megan
Looking ahead, I’m really excited for what’s next. I want to keep growing—adding new pieces, experimenting with higher-quality materials, and learning new techniques that bring more detail into pieces
Most of all, I want to keep giving back to the people who make this little business possible. Your mean everything to me. Truly—there would be no Made By Megan without you.
